Molly Germer is a violinist versed in multiple styles of performance. She is a violinist in Quartet121 and member of Earspace, a Raleigh-based ensemble dedicated to contemporary music and interdisciplinary performances. Molly is a former member of the Erie Philharmonic, has recently performed with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the New World Symphony, Wordless Music Orchestra, Ensemble LPR, Contemporaneous, and Ensemble Signal, and can be heard on Signal’s recordings of music by David Felder, Tristan Perich, and David Lang. She is a teaching artist at Play On Philly and collaborates with numerous groups in New York City, performing at venues such as The Stone, Miller Theater, Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, The Kaplan Penthouse, National Sawdust, and (le) poisson rouge. Molly is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music (BM) with additional studies at University of Rochester, and of the Contemporary Performance Program at the Manhattan School of Music (MM) with additional studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Julia Jung Un Suh is a South Korean violinist and proactive artist specializing in multidisciplinary contemporary art. She loves collaborating with composers, sound artists, and visual artists. She also has participated in various film recordings. An avid performer of contemporary music, Julia recently served as principal second violin in the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra in Switzerland. During the festival, she worked with renowned conductors Matthias Pintscher, Alan Gilbert, and Susanna Mälkki; and performed in venues including KKL Luzern and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. She also collaborated with San Francisco Contemporary Music Players under the artistic director, Steven Schick, for X-SCAPE in January 2016. Julia earned a bachelor’s degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music under Milan Vitek with a minor in Music Theory and received her Performance Studies Diploma from San Francisco Conservatory of Music under Ian Swensen. She completed her master’s degree in contemporary violin performance at Manhattan School of Music in 2018.
Violinist/violist Lena Vidulich is an adventurous and multi-faceted performer based in New York City. A tireless advocate for new music, she is also able to move fluidly between the worlds of orchestral music, rock, improvisation, and musical theater. Lena is the violist of earspace, a Raleigh-based ensemble creating multi-sensory performances; co-artistic director of Amalgama, a septet dedicated to the synthesis of improvisation and contemporary classical music; and the violist of Quartet121. Lena holds a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Northwestern University. Her education also included studies at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris and Université de Paris 8 – Vincennes-St Denis. Lena recently received her master’s degree in contemporary violin performance at the Manhattan School of Music. She is currently pursuing a Teacher’s Certification at the Riverside Initiative for the Alexander Technique.
Thea Mesirow is a cellist with a diverse musical background and an artistic sensibility. She performs contemporary and classical music, as well as rock, pop, musical theatre, and recording for film. As both a soloist and collaborator Thea has been fortunate enough to work with composers such as Michael Pisaro, Reiko Füting, and Sophia Gubaidulina, among others. In their debut season her duo, Berrow Duo, alongside flutist Leia Slosberg, had their international debut in Montreal,QC, a weekly pick by I Care if You Listen, a performance presented by Metropolis Ensemble, and a performance as part of NYU’s Music Department Conference. She is a member of The Nouveau Classical Project and Quartet121. Thea received a BFA from California Institute of the Arts where she studied with Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick. She completed her master’s at the Manhattan School of Music in May of 2017 where she studied with Fred Sherry
